Another new Day one, but I’m not really counting days…

After I blogged the other night I did something bad…which is eat two slices of pepperoni pizza. A pizza delivery guy had an extra that he didn’t know where it went and gave it to my security guard and I.  Which not only breaks my juicing, but also breaks my vegetarian-ism. I will explain how I am a vegetarian in a moment. Sigh. Then I came home and made some “Mexican” eggs. I had a lot of supplies left from when I made burrito’s a lot (I make the best bean burritos). I only juiced for breakfast that day.

Yesterday I juiced completely. My first juice was the one left over from the other night, the carrots, apple, and blueberries. It was really good, I love that combo.

My second juice is another one of my absolute favorite combinations, 3 kale leaves, 1 apple, and 1 cucumber. That is one of my bests.

My third juice was 4 celery stalks, 3 carrots, and 1/2 a lime. Don’t do this ever. Terrible. I was in a rush for work making my juices, I don’t know what I was thinking. The carrots are sweet, celery is kind of salty, lime sour, just made the whole thing taste bitter. Bleh. Never again.

Work was so crazy last night. Everyone in the hotel lost their damn minds. One lady was so drunk, her room was on the 6th floor, somehow she ended up on the 2nd floor kicking some guys door. Security escorts her downstairs and she keeps going “He’s a pervert. That guy, where’d *hiccup* he go, pervert. Don’t let him in your rooms ladies.” She was referring to my security guard, who is not a pervert, and she was just so belligerent. I even had to call the cops on her later.

I guess I never explained my hotel. After 10:30 PM, I am it. I am the only employee there of the hotel, I have one security guard with me. I am the front desk, housekeeping, maintanence, and even have to set up 3/4’s of our hot breakfast. I prepare every registration card that must be signed and help deliver every receipt under the doors. I also file all the paperwork from the night before. So, a night like last night, is a nightmare. I had a line of people at all times, still had people walking in to buy rooms at 5 in the morning, and someone let their dog poop in the elevator. Pretty rough night. I wanted to stress eat sooo badly, but I didn’t! Will power!!!

On good nights though, the hotel has free wi-fi, I hop on my lap top, can usually blog or play farmville. The kind of job that you really never know what is going to happen.

Me being a vegetarian, I was going to explain. I do not do it for ethical reasons. In fact I love meat. I love steak. Pepperoni pizza used to be my favorite (now I love mushrooms and black olives, also onion rocks too). I am also kind of a food snob. I don’t like that meat production has moved to factory farming, especially when we have so much farmland we don’t use, and the quality suffers. Don’t get me wrong, if my uncle offered me a pig he raised, I’d eat it. I’ve met that pig, I know he was not in a cage he couldn’t move in fed feces. Now I am thinking of bacon. Great.

This is just an interesting story. On the way home from work, which is only a 6 minute drive, everyone in downtown St. Louis was driving drunk I’m pretty sure. I saw one car blow through 3 major stoplights, not on some side street but the main street. I saw one car speeding down a one-way, THE WRONG WAY. Another car started to turn left, but in mid turn stopped and went straight. I have never been so scared on my drive home. I made it though. Phew.

  2. thanks for the vote of confidence with my juicing! I look forward to trying some of the recipes you mention in your post. don’t be so hard on yourself about “bad ” food. it happens and you move on.
